About
Rural Health Net makes affordable healthcare simple
After more than 25 years working inside the health insurance industry, I saw how complexity, delays, and administrative barriers were getting in the way of the care people need and the work providers want to do. This model was created to restore simplicity, transparency, and trust, making healthcare more affordable and accessible for members while giving providers the freedom to focus on care, not paperwork. Why a Discount Healthcare Program Matters
When healthcare gets complicated, access suffers. Rural Health Net keeps things simple with clear expectations, direct relationships, and fewer barriers for people seeking affordable routine care — whether they have high deductibles, no insurance, or just want private, straightforward conversations with their provider.

F.A.Q.
Find answers to commonly asked questions about our services
Is Rural Health Net health insurance?
No. Rural Health Net is a Discount Healthcare Program. It is not health insurance and does not provide coverage or benefits.
How is this different from health insurance?
Rural Health Net does not pay providers, does not file claims, and does not reimburse members. Members pay providers the discounted rate directly at the time of service.
How do members save money with Rural Health Net?
Members save money because participating providers have agreed in advance to offer discounted rates on medical services. Discounts apply each time services are received, though savings vary by provider and service.
How do I use my membership at an appointment?
When scheduling an appointment and also at the time of service, members inform the provider that they are a Rural Health Net member, present their membership information, and upon checking out, pay the provider the discounted amount owed for the healthcare services they’ve received.
Do providers bill Rural Health Net or file claims?
No. Providers do not bill Rural Health Net, and no claims are filed. Members pay providers directly for services received.
Can I use Rural Health Net if I already have insurance?
Yes. Rural Health Net can be used by people with high‑deductible plans, limited coverage, or no insurance at all. You get access to providers who offer discounted rates for routine healthcare services, and you pay the provider directly at the time of your visit. Rural Health Net isn’t insurance—there are no claims, and it doesn’t coordinate benefits with any insurance plan. If you have questions about how this fits with your current coverage, contact your insurance carrier to explain your options.
